After 3 months of inactivity we are back with a topic that you will love either you are a computer science student or a professional software gardener : Design patterns: The topic that should be part of every academic bachelor program! Especially nowadays that we are all bombarded with hundreds of buzz-words but we forget some basic skills that we all need regardless the programming language use.
This session will be focused, of course, in Java with practical examples of common use cases and how design patters can help us solve problems with clean and maintainable code.
We are really honored to have Dr. Dranidis Dimitrios with us for this meetup. Dr. Dranidis is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at CITY College, International Faculty of the University of Sheffield and an Affiliated Researcher at SEERC (South East European Research Center). His research interests are in the areas of service-oriented computing, model-based testing, object-oriented analysis and design, formal methods, software engineering education, agile software development methodologies, and artificial intelligence. I don’t think we could find a better speaker for this topic!!
The talk will be a combination of slides and live coding. You can optionally bring your laptop if you really fast and you want to follow the presenter’s pace 🙂
Oh, I almost forgot it! Two lucky gardeners – you have to RSVP – will win a free ticket for DEVit Conference, the first and only world class conference about web development in Greece. 12 world class speakers and java champions like Christian Heilmann, Mathias Bynens, Ian Miell and Dr. Heinz Kabutz, are coming to Thessaloniki to share with us their experience and point of view about their expertise in frontend and backend development, devops, security and testing!
See y’all there!
